Regarding the new mail window, open a new mail>in the task bar at the bottom
of the screen, right click on the new mail button that appeared>select
move>use the arrow keys to position it centrally>left click to release the
window.
Now you MUST resize that window slightly by grabbing the edge and dragging
it to a different size, close that window with the X.

All new mail windows will now open as you just closed the previous one.

Regarding your Contacts, please be a little more specific?

lets forget contact for now. i located the move function, and get the 4 pronged arrows. i can click and drag upper and lower margins, but the new message screen still only shows up on the right half of my computer, that is the click and drag double ended arrow wont take it any farther than the midway point. it is still only half a screen. thanks-lynda

Lynda, when you get the 4 pronged arrow, use your "Keyboard" arrow keys to
move the window, then mouse left click to release Move.

Then drag edges to resize.

Hurry up, we are dying to know your contacts problem :-))

steve (or is it mac?) YOU ARE A GENIUS!
thank you so much, it was driving me crazy, now my new message is back to
normal size. the contacts thing, i don't know, now it works. last night when
i started typing a contact name it didn't show up, but it is now so i'll
leave it alone. thanks again, wish all my problems could be solved so
quickly (i'm a nurse)

Hi Lynda, so you are a nurse? I have this pain in my back, any ideas?

Pleased to hear that you got the annoyance out of your hair, and that I
don't have to scratch my head regarding your Contacts.

ps: I answer to anything Steve or mac, but I am gone when asked about an
enema :-)

yes, an enema is a messy affair, the pain in your back-push away from the
computer, try yoga (stretching) ibuprofen (if you are not allergic to it) or
damp heat (30 minutes on, 30 minutes off) and then check with a non-enema
type doctor. definitely want to avoid enemas!

now can we talk about windows compacting my message store?? that sounds as
scary as an enema to me.

What's there to talk about? Just do it. Think of it like having to empty your
kitchen garbage can periodically.
