Create Default slide master in PPT 2003

Can someone tell me how to create a new template/master in PPT 2003?
I've set up the master the way I want it, and saved it as blank.pot in
the templates directory but when I click new slide, I always get
something else.

I want to eliminate the default boxes that say Click Here to add
title...

Create a new slide with your own design and save it as tamplate.
