I use Outlook 2003. I frequently send repetitive responses to
e-mails. I have tried to automate the process by creating a macro
with the text of the response, but I am making some mistakes, because
the macro has various errors and will not run after I try to create
it.

Please point me to a step-by-step instruction article online so that I
can handle this problem.

Actually for that sort of thing I prefer a simpler approach. Create a
text file that includes the text you wish to send, store them in a common
directory, then when you want to use one just Insert | File, find the file
and select the "Insert as Text" option.

Thank you. That is very helpful and works like a champ.

Glad to help. If you want to automate it further you might be able to
create a macro or two that inserts the file for you. You could Google
for "MacroMaker" which is a free tool or use something more sophisticated
like ActiveWords (http://www.activewords.com)
