The static website I am building is getting too large for each component to
be updated manually, I now need a quicker process.

I am working with Frontpage 2002, have not upgraded to 2003 yet.. did not
want to have to learn all the new features! I am not a natural at this, have
to work at it, learn as I go - on the job so to speak.

I need to move onto page templates but I have a great deal of variation with
sub subjects which also cross-over into each other.... so very complex,
cannot go to web company as way too expensive.

Any suggestions? My immediate question was how to create a smallish
paragraph, call it a banner, with text and optional graphic (amount of text
will vary between topics) to auto update throughout the website when saved -
similar to menu created though Webstyle, which I use for navigational menus.

Look at FrontPage Include pages.
Look up "included content" in FP Help.

Common text, images go into one page, which is included wherever needed. In
theory, there is no limit to the size of the included page, or the number of
pages being included in a single page.

In practice, the finished page cannot exceed 32K lines of code, and the
finished page has to be downloaded (watch the finished page size). Included
content is restricted to a web, or subweb, and cannot be included in pages
in another subweb.
