CREATE A MACRO TO SEARCH FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES &RETURN MESSAGE

hi,
forget macro. go to queries. click new. there is a wizard
that will do that. find duplicates query wizard.
 
Thanks. I dont know if this will work as I want the table to be searched for
duplicate entries when the the control loses focus. Eg I have a field called
Req Number which is not a primary key , when I enter a new number in this
field I want the undelying table checked to see if this number already exist
and return a message dtating entry already exist or duplicate number.

Thanks for any help given.
 
I want the exact same thing, I have found other threads that show sample
code but to no avail, I can't get any of it to work. Plz help Us both
