Crazy keyboard problem

I need help with a crazy keyboard problem I'm having. For some reason, when
I am typing (whether it be in Word, on Google, or anywhere else), if I press
any of the arrow keys multiple times or hold them down to move through a
document, or if I hit the delete key more than once, or if I hold down the
home, end, page up or page down keys, the letter "c" appears. I don't have
any hot keys or anything else turned on that I can see, so I have NO idea how
to turn this off. It is very frustrating, 'cause I can't navigate through a
document very well. Also, if I try and highlight text using my mouse, it
isn't working. Any suggestions?

Try a different keyboard. If the problems go away, through the old
keyboard out.

Sir,
As u hv told that u do not have any hotkeys set on ur computer, then this
might be a hardware problem... Ur keyboard or mouse might not be working
properly... so i suggest u that plz let ur system be checked by a
hardware/computer professional.

A couple of things:

First, make certain that your keyboard and mouse connections
are snugly connected (don't over tighten) to your system.

Check your system device manager properties to determine
if your system is reporting any keyboard or mouse problems.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Click on Hardware Tab
Click on Device Manager button

Look for any yellow circles with exclamation marks with them next
to "Keyboards" and "Mice" devices. Actually, if you see any other
error symbols, it should be cause for immediate alarm. You'll need
to investigate these, too.

Examine your system for viruses and malware. Run anti-spyware
programs in Safe Mode--press F8 repeatedly after reboot and
select Safe Mode. Run the antivirus and antispyware apps in this
mode. Clean up problems in accordance with the software's
instructions.

Here's a comprehensive link covering malware removal, courtesy

If you want to simply scan your system using the Microsoft Windows
Malicious Software Removal Tool, you can perform a scan over the net
by going to:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

Scroll down the page, and click on the "Check my PC for Infection"
button. This will run an online version of the tool.

If none of the above resolve your problems, buy and install
another mouse and keyboard.

Good luck!

Unfortunately, I didn't realize that you were using a laptop
until after posting my previous message. Sorry about
suggesting that you 'snug" your keyboard/mouse cables.

The suggestions about checking your system for malware
still applies.

If your laptop is still under warranty, promptly call your
laptop's manufacturer for support.

And if you do elect to have your system checked by a
hardware/computer professional, make sure it is not
repaired at a bigbox computer store's repair center.
Right, Malke? (Grin.)
