Crazy behavior

Ok, new computer for the home; uses dialup. Whenever I try to download
something from the internet, such as AIM or AdAware, during the downloading
it just stops and my connection fails/resets.

#2. I also installed SimCity4: Deluxe Edition. I tried playing the game 2
or 3 times, but after about 10-15 minutes a menu pops up on the monitor and
says something to the affect of "power enabling shutting down in several
seconds" or something along those lines.

What could the the possible problem/solutions?
 
Hi,

Possible Power Management is enabled in the system BIOS, and you have made
changes to Windows Power Management in the control panel. Frequently they
cannot coexist, and you must disable one or the other (recommend that you
disable the BIOS settings).
