Did you try uninstalling Word, restarting the computer, then reinstalling
Word? You say the problem is with Word, repairing Word (by a reinstall) may
help.

Other than that you haven't given much to work on. Can you paste other
things into Word? Can you paste your web content into other
programs...............

well am going to try and re-intalling windows xp...because powerpoint crases
as well for no reason and when i want to open the program up again it doesnt
so then i do system restore, but the same thing happens.

and the answer to your question before alan ,its only when i copy from the
web it crashes ,if i was to copy and paste from notepad or wordpad it works
fine.

but will it make me lose all of my word docs and powerpoint etc if i

Reinstalling will cause the loss of *everything* on the drive.

or repair??

A repair insrtallation shuld not cause the loss of anything. However there
are no guarantees that it always works perfectly. However unlikely, it's
always possible that something might go wrong. For that reason it's prudent
to be sure you have a backup of anything you can't afford to lose before
beginning.
