crashes when saving

Hi Folks,
I have a file server which I store mainly Office files. The powerpoint files
crash when saving to the server. The server is NT 4.0. When the files are
moved to a workstation and saved they are fine. But saving to the server
causes crashing, but only for powerpoint. Has anyone ran into this before?

Matt, I always HIGHLY recommend against saving to anything other than the
local hard drive. From there it can be copied to a server for storage. PPT
often requires access permissions that are not normally given to users
(admin privilages) and this creates problems.

it could also be a hardare problem as powerpoint uses higher file sizes than
other standard offce programs.
