Crashes & reboots with Microsoft Train sim V1.0

Hi people. Been having some major headaches with microsoft train simulator. I've installed the patch but the game still either locks up, comes up with an error message saying its encountered a problem, or just reboots. It does this after a few minutes of play and doesn't seem to be related to anything I'm doing in the game (I can just leave it on drive by view and it still does it).

I've reinstalled the game, lowered graphics settings, checked to see if components were getting too hot, especially CPU but they are all fine, I've re-installed the game, changed drives to different IDE sockets, YOU NAME IT!!!! Can't seem to get it to work. My spec is below. I've also tried everything that was related on the link to known issues and resolutions with this game from a few guys who have been kind enough to put a link to the page in previous posts but again to no evail.

Win XP Pro
Amd athlon xp 2000
256mb ram
60gb hd
ATI radeon 9600 se
Asus A7N8X-X SKT A Nforce2 motherboard

All the latest drivers

I can provide a dxdiag report if anyone wants it, but if anyone has any idea what might be wrong whether its a driver issue or hardware issue, anything at all then do let me know! Mail me at (e-mail address removed) or post up here.

Have you run the Train Sim troubleshooter? Basic instructions are here:

Also, take a look in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer and
click on Application in the left panel. This will reveal events listed in
the right panel, including error messages. Those can be right-clicked and
then Properties selected to see a portion of the error. If you can
correlate those errors to the times you're having problems with Train Sim,
we may be able to formulate a solution.
