Crashes after seven clips

I've been using WMM for years but I'm having endless problems with it on my
new computer. Everything works fine until I have more than seven clips
(either by adding a new clip or splitting one already in the timeline) but
after this the program shuts down without warning or error message. I have
the latest version. Is there anything I can fix that might be causing this
problem?

I have the same problem, but after 9 clips have been entered in my
collection. I first thought about a memory issue, but is seems that it are
always the same clips that can be loaded and the same clips that can't. All
clips have been made with the same Sony DCR-SR30E HDD video camera and are
made in the same MPG2 format. It also does not seem to be related to the size
of the clips, because some large clips can be loaded while some smaller ones
cannot, and vice versa. Does anyone have an idea about what could be the
problem ???
