Crash to blue screen

Sometimes no program is running, just the desktop. Sometimes I'm using
Flight Simulator FSX and I get the dreaded "blue screen". I just built this
system with Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit. Here are my system specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad processor 2.4 GHz
EVGA Nforce 780i motherboard
4GB Corsair DDR2 memory
2 EVGA Geforce 8800 graphics cards 512mb
750 watt power supply
Segate 300 GB hard drive
Sony VPL-HS60 overhead projector
Viewsonic 22" LCD
Chimei 19" LCD

This system is built for a B747 home cockpit. I have no idea whats causing
the crash. Sometimes I can use the system for a couple of hours with no
problem. Other times it may crash shortly after turning the computer on.
Any ideas?

Hi,

An overwhelming majority of crashes (stop errors, blue screens, call them
what you will) are caused by drivers that are not Vista-compliant, out of
date, or have been corrupted in some fashion. There is no one easy solution,
as you need to identify which one is causing the problem. This requires the
details of the stop error screen, particularly the error code (BCCode) and
any modules involved. A minidump file can also help in some instances.

Without this information, anyone giving you a response would just be
guessing.

I am suffering from the exact same problem using windows vista ultimate.
I'm sorry to say that Microsoft have not posted any solutions to this
problem as far as I know. I've tried surfing for solutions and all I get
is forums like this one with vista users complaining about the same
issue. I purchased my new laptop in Oct 2007 and everything was fine
until vista released the update and I naturally trusted the source and
downloaded the file. Now I am only able to use my PC in safe mode
otherwise it crashes continually. If anyone has a workable solution
please let us know.

Some Wintard will jump up and tell you that your drivers were wrong. Funny
they worked prior to the "update". Of course, the problem can't be
the "update" as it came from Microsoft and we all know that this
monopolistic corporation is always thinking about its customers'
well-being.

Cheers.
