I am getting a consistant crash dump(Minidump )followed
by a system reboot when I exit a land registry database
(external- via internet)application.
The bug Check code is 0x00000023
Parameter1 is 0x000208bf
Parameter2 is 0x00000000
Parameter3 is 0x00000005
Parameter4 is 0x00000000
It notes could not load kernel debugger extension
kdextx86.dll
incorrect image file win32k.sys and naifiltr.sys

How do you interpret what is triggering the error
condition?

What service pack are you running on? If you don't already have it
install SP4. What Causes the error? McAfee AV or McAfee firewall. Try
uninstalling these items and see if the error persists.

Hi John,
I do have SP4 loaded. I also have Mcaffee running. I have
never had a problem with Mcafee in the past 4 months. The
Event Log shows Mcafee loading properly. The fatal error
occurs after I attempt to log out of the internet account
of the application. I am checking stop code 23. I believe
that is what someone in this newsgroup suggested.
What do bugcheck parameters 1 thru 4 refer to?

Eugene

I don't know for sure what the parameters refer to. The error states
that it could not load kdextx86.dll. Make sure that the file is on your
system and in the proper directory. You can find kdextx86.dll in the
I386 folder, copy it to the same location as dumpexam.exe and
imagehlp.dll and see if that helps.

The file naifiltr.sys is a McAfee file and it is implicated in this
error message. Although your McAfee may load and seem to operate
corectly it doesn't seem to agree with what you are doing when the error
occurs and it is the only thing shown in the error message that seems to
be at fault, unless the Windows win32k.sys file is corrupted, possible
but I doubt it. Without naifiltr.sys the error wouldn't occur. Try
COMPLETELY disabling McAfee and all its components and see if the error
persists.
