I am trying a isp, however i could not get it to install
properly on my new computer. I emailed there tech
support and they emailed me back and told me what to do.
See below;

Regarding your concern, to resolve this behavior,
manually remove
and reinstall the dialer software. Please ensure that you
are
NOT connected to the Internet before following the
procedure
given below.

Follow the steps given below to uninstall the dialer:

To uninstall the PeoplePC ISP software from ADD/REMOVE
PROGRAMS,
follow these steps:

1) Double click on My Computer.
2) Double click on Control Panel.
3) Double click on Add/Remove programs.
4) Select PeoplePC.
5) Click on Add/Remove button.

If you have an early version of dialer software, it may
not appear
in ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. If this is the case follow the
steps
below.

1) A copy of the ppcreset.exe file is attached to this e-
mail.
2) Click on this file and save it on your hard disk.
3) Double click on the icon to uninstall the old dialer.
4) Once your old dialer is uninstalled, please reboot
your system.

I did this and in the middle of it i crashed, went to
task manager, restart. Now I have crashed and can't get
up. I have tried everything except re-installing xp. I
would rather not of course, lose all my stuff.

I tried system restore, nope won't work. I can get to
safe mode but then the error message comes up about a
file missing "isass.exe" I say ok and i just go around
and around - click ok then reboots by itself, error
message - click ok - reboot by itself. I am reasonably
sure t his file is from the isp, i put that cd back in,
nothing i booted from norton, no virus, all it will do is
chkdsk for virus. I only can get into DOS but I can't
remember DOS Commands. I was wondering if I could delete
that file if my system would come back up. if the
location of the file is C:\programfiles\isp50\???, how do
i delete it from dos? I also can not get the DOS to
prompt at just C:\ it is at C:\WINDOWS> NO matter what
i do that is how it sits on prompt.

HELP ME PLEASE SOMEBODY I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR 5
HOURS

Most ISP dialer software is not designed for XP and doesn't work with
XP. However, native XP connectoids work well with all ISPs except AOL
and a few others.

Set up your own dial-up connectoid using the telephone number(s)
provided by your ISP and your username and password.
