CPU usage when scrolling

Hi all,
Is there any way to avoid, or almost reduce, the effect of scrolling a
web page. I mean, I've done some tests in a P4 3Ghz with 256Mb RAM and WinXP
sP2 with IE299.2180 installed and when I vertically scroll a web page (even
it's a flat text) the CPU usage arrives at 40-50 %. Can it be reduced?

I've read and tried some of the solutions/conclusions arrived in the thread
"high CPU utilization from Iexplore.exe for some web pages" but none of them
have any effect on my case.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,
Marc.

Hello Marc,
[reduce CPU usage]

To save a lot of CPU time you can deactivate "use smooth scrolling". Go to
the Tools > Internet Optinos > Advanced tab and deselect the above option.
In fact Internet Explorer is one of the fastest browsers for Windows.

The CPU usage when scrolling has decreased considerably and it's not an
important performance for my application if it's lost.
It has also solved the problem explained in "track of frames when scrolling"
thread.

Well done. Thanks,
Marc.
