cpu upgtade

i up graded my cpu from duron 1.3 to xp 2800 amd and my xp
pro os would not startup. i did the windows\system32
\config\system repair thing and it still wouldn't startup
up!!!!! why????? help me someone, please. THANK YOU!!
 
Did you make the necessary adjustments in the Bios. What motherboard do
you have?
