CPU temperature and Motherboard temperature

T

titus12

My CPU temperature reads 7 degrees higher than the motherboard. I put in a
new power supply, and the temperature of the motherboard would go from 38C
to 47C and remain. The CPU temperature sometimes is equal to the
motherboard temperature; It would go as high as 57C. Should I get a new
Heat Sink? I have a P4 430 3.0MHz processor on an Asus P5GD2-X motherboard
with a Thermolake 430 w power supply.

Thank you,

For a P4, that's fine. The CPU normally runs hotter than the motherboard.
If it ran cooler, I'd probably be worried.

This has nothing to do with the OS.
