CPU temp

I have a Gibabyte Ga7VT600 running a AMD 2500 Barton CPU. The temp
shown by MBM 5 and the BIOS is 56C. and sometimes gets to 60C

I have read that 60c is too high but is 56C OK.

What sort of temp should it be

By the way the room temp is over 30C and the temp reduces when air
conditioner kicks in.

Sounds fine to me. I operate at slightly higher temperatures during the
summer when gaming. GA7VT400 XP2000+. Do you have a case fan? Even a low
speed quiet model from Vantec, Panaflo, or Pabst is better than no case
fan at all.

If it's 60c under 100% CPU load, then youshould be OK (would be nice to get
it a bit lower though).
My Barton 2800+ gets to 58c under full load.

I'm running an XP 2500 Barton core on a Biostar M7NCD mb at 38C in a 64
degree (F) room. I've found that temperatures can vary greatly even using
the same CPU but on different mbs. I would imagine the graphics card as well
as case and ventilation, intake, exhaust fans play a role here. The thing
that boggles me though in my case (no pun intended) is that the only fan I
have running is the one for the power supply in an Antec case. Although 56C
is viable it sounds pretty warm to me for an AMD.

You would like the idle CPU temp to be 45C or below ideally. You need
better cooling.

Thanks for the advice. Yes it does only get to 60C when running Seti
100% load.

Today temp is only 55C Air temp is about 25C
