CPU is unworkable error message??

When I start up my computer, it stops an gives me an
error message "CPU is unworkable or has been changed.
Please recheck - CPU Soft Menu. It then gives me an
option or either pressing F1 to coninue or DEL to enter
SETUP. If I press DEL nothing happens. If I press F1 it
opens up Window desk top and I can use computer but
performance is not there. I have tried running Check Disk
but it has not made any difference. Please help. Thanks
 
It sounds like something in your bios got reset and your CPU most likely
isn't running at full speed.

Maybe Dell can offer some assistance.
