cpq32fs2-scsi error

Running Win 2K Straight Server Edition, SP4 and latest
patches installed. 256 mb ram. Lately I've been getting an
event log full error message. Event that causes the error
is defined as "cpq32fs2-scsi error". Googled it not much
there. I don't have any SCSI devices installed. Have an
IDE Controller card, Zip, 3 HDDS, 2 CD-Rom's, floppy. ZA,
Ad-aware, AVG.

For the time being I have checked the "overwrite log" box,
that's only burrying my head in the sand as something is
wrong. I write because I have a friend with a server now
experiencing the same error. Same server edition but SP1.

What is the event ID associated with this error?
Do you have a Compaq Proliant Server?
This file is a Compaq file. If you have not applied the latest Compaq SSD,
doing so should resolve the error.

Maybe this will help - the error is being reported from a (typically
onboard) Compaq SCSI driver

I had this problem with NT4, Compaq had changed a driver for their on-board
SCSI controller which generated these errors when I installed the latest
driver.

After a few days back and forth with Compaq support I got a new version of
the driver and this solved the problem.

May be worthwhile trying to find the latest drivers for your hardware. Or
possibly the hardware has become faulty.

Last resort (if you don't have any SCSI devices) disable the SCSI controller
in Device Manager. Dirty but should get rid of your erros.
