Counterstrike in Vista

whenever i try to play CS i get an error saying

video mode not supported.. must start in software mode


is this because i have directx 10 and not 9?

how do i downgrade to 9 or is there somewasy to fix this

u can run it in 3d at 800x600.i have the same prob the ati vista driver will
not support opengl yet,and may not .mine is AMD 3200+ ati x200 vid 1gig + mem
