Countdown Timer / Web Page in presentation

As a teacher, I use a web-based countdown timer (applet) to give time limits
(e.g. "you have 10 minutes to complete the task). Now, as most of my
lessons are in PowerPoint, I cannot show the lesson AND the timer
simultaneously.

Is there a way of either:

- including the web page in the Powerpoint presentation (in a similar
way that frames are used ion internet pages

- adding a countdown timer as an applet / flash object within the
Presentation?
