Could not open default email folders

I am NOT using Outlook (XP 2002) as my default mail client - I use Outlook
Express - but do want to use Outlook's contacts and calendar, etc. WHen I
try to open Outlook (XP2002) it says that it it could not open your default
email folders and won't open my contacts, calendar, etc. It does display a
list of files on my computer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled (Office XP
2002), restarted the computer - still nothing.

In my original email - the conclusion was that my contacts, calendar and
other such folders would not open. You then replied "Create a new mail
profile". I'm no expert and you are a smart ass. Create a new mail profile
where? My outlook express email is working fine and that is what I
want....Creating a new mail profile somewhere will fix the problem (with your
program) of bringing up Contacts, etc?

Thanks,
Paul

DW - I just re-loaded Office and all is fine except my contacts, address
book, calendar, etc won't work. Milly Staples is useless; so, no I haven't
found an answer yet.

Yes, it will. Outlook needs a structure, called a mail profile, created in
the Registry in order for it to do anything. See this for how to create a
new mail profile.

By the way, it's not Milly's program. It belongs to Microsoft, and Milly
doesn't work for them, either.

Thanks, Brian, but it seldom works to argue with idiots.
