Could not find a web server

Susan

Have FP 2003. I am trying to publish pdf file to remote
server from PC. File is larger than others. After a period
of time I obtain this message:

Could not find a Web server at "my website" on port
21....etc.

When this happens, I try to go into Internet Explorer and
see if my home page will come up which is set to msn.com.
I am unable to bring up websites in IE.

Any suggestions? I think I am at the mercy of the ISP and
phone lines.

KB 319514
I am using FTP, have Windows Pro with IIS, have IE 6.0,
and the box uner LAN settings, Advanced, by "Use the same
proxy server for all protocols" has no check by it. There
is no FTP and Port boxes to specify the protocol, etc.

I am dial-up person--no DSL.

Any suggestions please!

Susan

P. S. I was able to upload PDF file the other day after
numerous attempts which is why I am wondering about phone
lines and service.

I can do "Publish Selected Files" on the smaller htm
files fine but when I do it on the larger pdf file I get
the error Could Not Find a Web Server at, etc. etc. That
is why I think it has something to do with service.

Your ISP service could have a file upload size limitation or the remote server is slow which can
cause the issue with it becoming unavailable.

My ISP said that there was no size limitation. I was able
to finally selectively publish file after I turned the
Firewall off. I am using new Firewall and am not sure I
understand all the settings.

But again when I have problems signing on to Internet with
different computer, it makes me wonder about service too.

Thanks, it is nice to be able to use these boards as a
sounding board.
