Corruption of short cuts

Some of the internet explorer blue underlined short cuts on
My Computer have become corrupted. How do I alter their
properties?
 
I have had this problem too after re-installing Win 2k
after it intially had a meltdown one day. Ever since, my
blue underlined shortcuts don't work, and also certain
shortcuts on my task bar freeze up. Do you also have the
problem that you cannot view thumbnails anymore as this is
another annoying quirk on mine. If you find out the
solution, pls let me know!
