Corrupted Word files

We are using Laptops connected to the network through an HP access point.
Sometimes when users try to save a Word document to their folder shared on
the network the file becomes corrupt, When the open it back up half the
document is corrupted.When the machine is restarted it comes up with a
Network DDE error.
Does anyone have any info?
