I have been trying to get my corrupted registry fixed, but am running into
roadblocks. I can't use system restore, and can't get command prompts at all.
The original Windows XP Prof. CD won't work, and the recovery console won't
come up at all. I am now at a loss as how to fix this problem. My computer
was running just fine this morning, now this! I am using my DH's computer for
this problem now.

That article is very nice, but if you can't access command prompt it is
useless. I have no access to anything referred to in that article.

Create a BartPE Recovery disk and boot from that. You might have to
change your BIOS settings to boot from CD before Hard Disk (which might
be why you can't boot from your XP disk). At a minimum, this should
allow you to back your stuff up before fixing or reinstalling Windows.
