Corrupted Recycle Bin?

Good day,

I running windows XP Pro, and have a curious prolbem with
the recycel bin, in short it's alway empty. When I send
things to the recycle bin they always show up as empty. I
checked the properties of the Recycle bin and made shre
the "Don't nt move items to recycle bin delete
immediately" option is unchecked, and yet the recycle bin
is alway empty. Im not running norton protected recycle
bin.
