Somehow my 2nd harddrive became corrupted. I've scanned all my files
with various antivirus programs and nothing seems to be infected, so I
have no idea how this happened.
Basically the MBR and parition table got screwed up. In fact, my 1st
HDD's partition table somehow seemed to end up on the 2nd HDD.
Prior to this, my 2nd HDD contained 2 partitions, both Logical
partitions in an Extended partitions.
Using Active@ Partition Recovery, I've managed to make my partitions
visible again, but they are now primary partitions. Ideally, I'd like
to convert these back to extended partitions as easily as possible,
but I suspect the safest method will be to copy the data onto the 1st
HDD and reformat the 2nd HDD, and then copy the data back.
Only problem with this is that I don't have enough room on the 1st HDD
to copy everything from the 2nd HDD, although there's enough space to
copy the important stuff. So what I'd like to do is backup the vital
data, and then try and convert the partitions, keeping the data
intact.
So, if anyone knows a way to convert the primary partitions on the 2nd
HDD to logical partitions, please tell me.
