corrupted MSN Messenger icons

N

news.microsoft.com

I have a problem with my MSN Messenger (4.7). Since a few days all icons in
the view is the "green man"-icons, i.e. the icons for collapsing different
groups are "the green man" etc.

It makes it difficult to see who is connected and who is not as all my
contacts appear to be connected even if they are not.

I have tried to install and uninstall MSN Messenger 4.7, i alsop tried to
install a different language pack but nothing helped so far.

Does anyone have any ideas?

regards,
Lars

(Sorry for my bad "Belgian" English, but hey, at least I try)
I've had the same problems since a few days. Not only the Messenger icons
were incorrect, but also the icons in KazaA Lite were wrong. When I saw
your posting (and the reply from another poster having the same problem), I
was sure that the problem wasn't Messenger, since we use different versions
and the problem also occurs in other programs.

I noticed that recently (a few days ago) I installed an update (from Windows
update) for my NVidia driver. So, I uninstalled this update plus the
original driver, restarted my PC, let Windows XP find a suitable driver,
and ... tadaaa !!! Problem solved.

Hope this might help you?

Had same problem on 6.1 after doing a Windows Update
for my NVIDIA graphics card.

I restored to checkpoint before update and all is fine

Hi Bob K and Sjeik

Thanks for your input. I did update my NVidia drivers before the prolem
started. I will uninstall it and see if that helps.
