corrupted files how to fix them

my os is win xp home and was wanting to know how to fix corrupt files thanks
 
Hi

Do you know, specifically, if the files are Windows files? If so type the
following in Start>Run

sfc /scannow

to check the system files. You may need to have your XP CD to hand.
