How can I restore my corrupted files when the fact that
they are corrupted prevents me from being able to install
a utility that would correct the problem?

Hi Paul,

Are these DLLs, system DLLs? Do you know them by name?

For all System DLLs, there should be a backup version of it in
\windows\system32\dllcache

You might try and see if you can boot to a command prompt, using a DOS boot
disk if you have one and your system drive is not formatted to NTFS.

Hope this helps.

sfc /scannow at a command prompt will restore DLLs from dllcache.
