No the SYSVOL simply replicates policies, scripts, etc. It wont affect the
GC.
To fix a corrupt SYSVOL,stop ntfrs, change the BURFLAGS value in the
following registry value to D2, and restart ntfrs (assuming you have another
DC with a working SYSVOL):
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters\Backup/Restore\Proce
ss at Startup
If you don't have another DC, you will need to restore the SYSVOL folder and
change that value to D4 instead. Assuming you have a backup that is...
