Hello,
I have a client running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, Exchange 2003, and
on their desktop they use outlook 2003. Everything was working fine until
about a month ago, when suddenly they could no longer get to their exchange
mailbox on their desktop. I tried every solution that microsoft posted, they
even said that corrupt mailboxes is a problem they are aware off.
Every time I want to expand the mailbox, gives me an error telling me that
it is unable to do so, because the file is either corrupt, or not there, and
ms solution asks to change the ost file.
I followed the directions, and went into the settings and tried to look for
the offline folder, but was unable to edit it, change it, delete it. Would
not let me do anything. I then went into the folder where the ost file is,
and removed it, but then when I restarted outlook, it once again created the
same file (outlook0.ost)
I also tried a detect and repair, and I tried the scanost.exe program, but
when I did, it told me it could not find an ost file. (even though I could
see it in the folder).
Anyone have any ideas what I should try. I am assuming that it is something
with outlook which is creating this corrupt file every time I start outlook.
Has anyone else run into this problem, and if so, how was it resolved.
