Corrupt .ldb file

One of my access 2000 files has an associated .ldb file. I know for a fact
that there are no users on the system but Access will not release (delete)
the ldb file and so I cannot change or update the mde file.

Can anyone advise me as to how to delete or reset the .ldb file so that my
mde file will be released to accept changes.

I do not know how the ldb file became corrupted.

I would appreciate any advice anyone can provide.

Thanks, Bob Robinson

Access has nothing to do with keeping you from deleting the ldb file
unless some Access file has it open.

On the other hand a problem ldb file is often caused because it thinks
it is open. You may need to reboot the CPU that controls the drive the LDB
is located on and make sure you have rights to delete files in the directory
where it is located. You can even try deleting it after rebooting into safe
mode.

Thanks Joseph. The file in question is on a server though and I am not sure
when or if they re-boot. I do have delete rights to the directory but still
cannot delete the file.

Ask one of your network managers to delete the file. They should be
able to handle it.
