Corrupt graphics at bottom of screen

When I run a fullscreen game in Vista, the bottom quarter of the screen is
corrupt or solid white. This happens with both Direct3D and OpenGL games.
See this link for an example:

I have an ATI Radeon X1600 and the current ATI beta drivers for Vista. I
assume those are the problem, but I figured I would ask in case anyone knew
of a workaround. Thanks.

Hi,
I'm running the ATI x1400-different card;but; I found that the driver's
in Vista themselves;which are supplied by ATI;work WAY better than the
driver's on ATI's site. I tried the RC1 driver's from the ATI;and had
nothing but problems;so uninstalled them;and just went with the native ATI
Vista driver's.
Maybe that'll help ya.

With my ATI x1600 and Vista RC1 drivers from ATI's site, I've had the same
problem all weekend (blackness or corruption on the bottom 1/3 of the screen
in most of my full screen games).

I understand that I want to uninstall the drivers I got from ATI's site and
re-install the drivers that come with Vista but I haven't figured out how to
do this yet.

Uninstalling the drivers and then restarting and letting Vista install what
it wants isn't working for me. Can someone give me a quick rundown, please?

Thanks in advance,
Rich

What I did was go to Uninstall Programs in the control panel and selected
the ATI uninstall utility. I don't remember exactly it was called but just
look for ATI and you should see it. The uninstaller took absolutely forever
but it finally finished and Vista reverted to it's own ATI driver, no
restart was needed. If that doesn't/didn't work for you I'm afraid I'm out
of ideas. Maybe someone else will know more about it.

Yup,
Ya can go to device manager; and find ur display and uninstall the
driver;from there; too

No luck with either of your two suggestions, I'm afraid.

After uninstalling the offending ATI software, Windows is suddenly dumb and
both doesn't resort back to the driver beforehand nor can it find it's
packed-in driver that was given to me during my initial Vista install.

I've even tried to help the search process along by pointing it to both the
C:/Windows directory and my Vista install disc but it claims not to find
anything usable during both attempts.

Darn, I really wanted to avoid both a system restore or an entire
re-installation of Vista but I'm running out of ideas fast.

I've also wanted to try manually installing ATI's Beta 2 drivers (the ones
immediately released before the RC1 driver) but I can't find those posted on
the Internet anywhere.

Any other ideas?

Installing ATI's pre-RC1 drivers, the ones named "ati_LH_RC0_full.exe" has
fixed the problem of bottom-screen corruption for me so far. Both EQ2 and
Bad Day LA now run perfect for me in full screen.

Thanks for everyone's time here:)
