It would appear you've enabled a right-to-left language.

Hi John,
If the words are entering from right to left, but are 'normal' looking then that would likely be as, Suzanne mentioned, having an
Asian/right to left (RTL) language active in Word you should also have icons for left to right and right to left text direction
that you can click to change direction.
In Word 2000-2003 these icons would be on the Formatting Toolbar.
In Word 2007 on the Home Ribbon=>Paragraph group.
If you use Ctrl+A to select your whole document then press the 'Left to Right' text direction choice that should generally reset the
document, but check to see if the style you're using is set to be RTL.
If the characters are actually turned around backwards as you type then that would be another issue.
