copyright symbol

I would like to enter (c) into a cell. When I do that,
excel automatically inserts the copyright symbol ©. What
can I do to shut this off so I can have a list that reads
(a) (b) (c) ..... (p) (q) (r) (s) (t).... (z) instead of:

(a) (b) © ..... (p) (q) ® (s) (t).... (z) ???

Can anyone help?

Hi, on the menu bar go to:
Tools:Options and pick the Selling Tab
Then pick the AutoCorrect Options button and
tick the 'Replace text as you type' checkbox

you're done
