Copying to CD

Whenever I copy an Access 2000 database to a CD to
transfer it to another machine, it ends up being loaded
as a "Read Only" database. I then have to create a blank
database, copy all the objects to this new database, and
recompile it to make it work.

It works the same way whether I use the Windows XP
copying feature or Roxio's Easy CD Creator.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there anyway I can fix
this.

Any help would be appreciated

You're not doing anything wrong with the copying. CDs are technically
read-only devices.

However, you are fixing it the *hard* way.

After it is copied to the hard drive, using Windows Explorer, right click
the file, select properties, un-check the read-only box, and click OK.

All files are marked as read-only on a CD. All you have to do is
right-click on the file in Windows Explorer, choose Properties and uncheck
the Read-Only option.

If the MDB file is small, you can also make to yourself a xmax gift and buy
an USB memory key.
