Copying .pst files to new Computer

I have a new computer (I think the same version of Office Outlook 2003) and
trying to transfer .pst file from old to new. I successfully backup using
the backup tool but when trying to import I recv the message "File access is
denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file
D:\Outlook backup.pst" I never password protected the file so I don't
understand. Any suggestions are helpful.

probably because you don't have permission on D drive or the file.
you can check by right click the file - properties - security.
if you cannot see the security tab, contact your administrator.

Make sure that the read-only attribute is not set.

Do not use Import; just open the file with Outlook.

Is D drive your CDROM? Copy the file to your HDD (do NOT overwrite the
existing file) and then in Outlook do File-Open-Outlook Data File....
