Copying problem

Incredibly annoying! On a fairly large spreadsheet every time I try to
copy a summary table (either with the mouse or Ctrl-C) the spreadsheet
closes. It's not the PC (tried several), not the network (tried a
standalone), tried re-naming the file...
Anyone got any ideas what might be causing it?
Thanks,

Robert

Could someone have assigned a macro that closes the workbook to CTRL - C

Just attempts to work around the problem...

Close excel
clean up the windows temp folder
windows start button|Run
type:
%temp%
and hit enter for a quick way to get there.

Then try it out.

If it works, woohoo!

If not, close excel and reopen it in safe mode.
windows start button|Run
type:
excel /safe

and test it out

One of the things that can cause trouble with excel is a corrupt toolbar file.
(Although, I've never seen your problem mentioned.)

Close excel
then use windows search to find all the *.xlb files
and rename them all to *.xlbOLD

Then reopen excel and close excel to test it.

If it works ok, you can delete those *.xlbOLD files.

If that wasn't the solution, then just rename them back to the original names
(with excel closed).
