Does anyone know why I can't copy text from one PowerPoint file into another
PowerPoint file, without the text blowing up and requiring reformatting?

Howard Joe,
Don't know how you are copying it and what version you are using, but when
you paste do you get a tiny little icon that says Paste options? There you
can choose to paste keeping the original format. If you don't see the tiny
icon try Tools - options - edit tab, and turn on the setting.

Will try that. Thanks. I know the option appears in the Office 2003 version
but didn't know how to turn it on in earlier versions.

Luc, no luck. The Paste Options windows was nowhere to be found. I believe
it has to with the old version of PowerPoint being used. The computers with
the problem have Office 2000 installed. I'm requesting upgrades to Office
2003.
