copying jpgs from internet

is there a default of file type for pics ?
I used to be able to copy jpg files as jpg files. But now
on one computer, even though it is s jpg file, the PC only
wants to save it as an *art file. Another computer I use
now only want to save same jpg file as a *bmp file. PCs
seem to be acting like they have a default file type that
I cannot find where to change. Even the drop down box
that says *art or *bmp will not allow me to change.

any idea what is going on ??

Open your IE 6.0 browser. Click "Tools" -> "Internet
Options".
Click the "Settings" button, then the "View Objects"
button.
From the list in this window, right-click on each one and
choose "Update".
If there are any that are corrupt or invalid,
choose "Remove" from the right-click" context
menu.
Close this window, then click "OK",... "OK".

Hi,
I have this exact same prblem for 6 months. Nothing seems
to work. I even tried Ron's idea, NO LUCK. Someone
suggested I should clear the Temporary Internet Files.
That didn't work neither. This is driving me crazy.!!
