copying files into FP2002

I have been playing with ways to do slide shows. I used
Adobe Image Ready to produce a series of gif and it
looked fine in the Preview menu. However trying to
incorporate that within FP2002 was disasterous. The gif
is saved as psd file, and copying the HTML from Adobe and
the images into FP did not help becuase the HTML source
refers to gif file and I cannot locate any gif file on my
PC. Adobe must somehow hide the gifs within the psd file?
Adobe finds the gif file when I open the psd file in
Adobe Image Ready. Guess that Adobe was not intended to
be used this way with FP.

Microsoft Power Toys does create nice slide show, however
I have problems incorporating it into FP 2002. I end up
with two Default files. If I click on the right one, the
slide show works.

The FP2002 photo gallery slide show works, however the
number of pictures across the top is not consistent. It
starts with 5 and transitions to 4 across the top. I have
tried to apply the fix kb 293910 but don't think I was
able to apply the fix to JS. I could make the change with
Notepad but when I tried to save file, I got some error
about downloading the file which did not make sense to
me.

I don't know much about web and graphics but thought that
Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop were supposed to be the
choice. I do like FrontPage but was wondering why it
seems so difficult to incorporate other applications
within a website. Is FP2003 any better?

Wondering if anyone cares to comment?

I think you're just using image ready the wrong way. after you do your
animation/transitions you'd save for web or save as html (don't remember)
etc. but a gif isn't really all that good because of the color limitations.

you could find a JavaScript that'll fade picture into picture and just use
..jpg files.

there's a nice flash type slide show maker at www.photomeister.com that
outputs to a folder you can import into FrontPage and edit/publish.

A psd file is a PhotoShop document file, a proprietary format used by Adobe
Imaging products. It is NOT a gif. However, you may be confused because you
may have saved the psd as a gif and then when you went to close Image Ready,
it may have prompted you to save the psd, which you may have been confused
about. I don't kow for sure. I CAN tell you that a PSD is not a web-enabled
graphic.

I used Image Ready to create an animated gif ( I changed
the jpg files to gifs so that I could create a "type of
slide show.") You can see the series of gifs in the
animation palette. The series of gifs are saved as a psd
file. The source HTML code refers to the gif. I did a
search on my PC for the gif and it was not found. Somehow
Adobe "knows" how to find the gif if opened with Adobe.
However, the code would not work stand-alone in IE or
FrontPage.

Chris has helped me out because there was another Save
option on the Adobe menu. I am just learning and was
expecting drop down box for different formats within Save
option and overlooked different Save options on menu. The
Save option I had used only allowed the file to be saved
as psd format. I found Save option that allowed saving as
gif with HTML options. This option allows the file to be
used in IE or FrontPage as stand-alone.

Save the animated gif as a gif file, and put that file
into FP. Neither FP, Dreamweaver, or any other web program
can work with PSD files.
