copying cds

following a catastrophy 2weeks bak, which resulted in me
losing everything :( ...(sympathy accepted) i had 2do the
presssing f8 thing 2start & run my restart disks, wiping
e.thing out & starting all over agai...anyhow, all is ok
now xcept wen i try 2 copy my cds 2 my computer they only
read 44bytes per track ? they play fine on my computer
but just wont copy properly.....any help wud be cool.

You can't directly copy music files because they are not in a format Windows
can recognize. That's why the 44 bit reading. you need to "rip" the songs to
MP3, WAV, or whatever format you prefer, in order to store and play them
from your hard drive. Programs such as Cdex can do this for you.
