Copying and pasting

I am having trouble copying and pasting slides from one powerpoint
presentation to another. I have Powerpoint 2003. I have tried copying and
paste special to insert the slides, as well as going to Insert from file, and
selecting the slides (have keep formatting checked also). Everytime I do this
my text boxes are all over the place. I have about 8 manually entered text
boxes and everything is also animated.

Also, the "keep formating" option does not appear when I paste. Any
suggestions?

Thanks,
RC

Not sure I can say what is exactly happening with your specific slides, but
try this as a troubleshooting option:
1. Copy the entire slide that contains the desired table/text
2. Paste slide into new presentation and click the 'keep source formatting'
option after paste (does the table remain intact at this point?)
3. Copy and paste the chart to desired slide, use the 'keep source
formatting' option after paste.

When I paste the slide in the other presentation the "keep source formatting"
option does not even appear. This is why I tried the Insert slide method -
since then I can checkmark the box with that option ~ but that didn't work
either. Any other ideas?

"When I paste the slide in the other presentation the "keep source formatting"
option does not even appear"

Look in Tools > Options > Edit and see if the box for paste options is
unchecked.

I found an answer to my own question. The page set up was different in one
presentation vs. the other, so my text boxes were getting pushed around.
Thanks for the help.
