How can I copy a db file to CD. Everytime I copy the
file and then try to open, I get the error that it's a
read only file and won't open. I look at the properties
and uncheck the read only attribute it tell me that an
error occurred and Access is denied. What can I do?

Kinda logical seems to me: CD-ROM is Compact Disc-Read Only Memory

Open the original file or copy it from CD to HDD, uncheck the read-only
argument en have fun with your database!

Anything on a CD-ROM is and will be readonly: couldn't be anything else

Any file on a CD is Read Only because the CD is Read
Only. If you move the file back to a drive you will be
able to use the file. (In some instances, copying the
file from a CD to another drive will require that you
change the Read Only flag your self)

The read-only message is as expected, but the MDB should open when you click
OK in that message box - unless perhaps there is code that runs when the MDB
opens that attempts to change something.

Similarly, as others have indicated, the inability to change the read-only
attribute is as expected if you're trying to do this with the copy of the
file on the CD-ROM. Although, with the widespread availability of CD
Writers, CD-ROM is not really the read-only media that it used to be
anymore, Windows still can't just write to it directly in the same way that
it can with random access media such as hard disks and diskettes.

If you really need to store and use MDBs on removable disks, consider a zip
drive rather than a CD-ROM.

The little USB flash memory things are handy for this too.
