copy to cd-RW

Whenever I try to copy to cd-RW the PP presentation, I get a error message ,
to insert a blank CD inspite of the cd-rw being blank.Kindly advice.

Not all CD burners are CD-RW drives. Check under 'My Computer' to see how
the drive is listed, is it CD-R or CD-RW? You may also want to check the
front of the drive for any printing that will identify the drive type. I
would try to burn the presentation to a regular CD-R and see if that works.

Also, just to make sure, you are not trying to save to the CD from within
PowerPoint, right? It is always better to use a CD burning software (or
Windows CD writing tools) to transfer the files. Never run a presentation
from any type of removable media.

Check you bot settings. From what I read, the user is trying to burn the
actual PPT file to a CD-RW disk. If he/she can not burn to a disk, than how
will he/she burn a DVD? You do not know if they have a DVD burner or if
they want a DVD.

If they HAD mentioned converting to DVD, I would have pointed them to:
** Convert presentations to VHS or DVD video
