Copy / paste

I have windows XP home edition and word 2002. If I copy to the clipboard
and then open word, the clipboard is empty and I have to copy again once
word is open.

This behaviour only seems to happen in word. I cab have things in the
clipboard and paste them into many other applications upon opening them but
not word.

any tips please

Thanks

I believe I read that this is a function of the Works Add-In. Do you have
Microsoft Works installed?

One of the many nasty habits of the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word is
that it clears the Clipboard when you start Word. If you're running Word
freestanding (not launching it from the Works Task Launcher) and don't
expect to be using a Works database or address book as a mail merge data
source in Word, you need to uninstall the add-in through Control Panel |
Add/Remove Programs.
