Copy formulas between sheets

zoltkowski

Hello,

I have a following problem:

in Sheet1 cell C1 I have a formula "=A1+B1". Now I want to copy it to
Sheet2, to get "=Sheet1!A1+Sheet1!B1". Any idea how to get it?

It would be ok for me to be able to add Sheet1! to all cells reference
in Sheet1 automatically. Is it possible?

TIA,
Marcin

Why would you want to?

=Sheet1!C1 will do the same thing as =Sheet1!A1+Sheet1!B1

Because I want to delete C1 cell in Sheet1.

OK, short explanation. I have a sheet with some financial data and a
lot of statistics. Now I want to move the statistics on a new sheet.
But I don't want to retype all formulas. And I want to clear the
current calculations. Is it more clear now? In a shortcut: I want to
move a formula from one sheet to another in way to preserve exactly
what it does (source data should be unchanged).

I think it is not trivial, at least I could not google any hint
(except of 1 program that does more or less what I want, but I believe
it's not that hard to pay for that...)

I don't know of any way of just copying to get what you want.

Comes to mind the INDIRECT function or VBA code but either would require
some thought and re-writing.

If the formulas are more complex than the simple one you posted much more
thought would have to be put into either method.

Hang in............there are some function wizards with skills far beyond
mine monitoring these news groups. Might be one of them can come up with
something for you.

Thanks anyway. I know it is non trivial and maybe even not possible
(I'd be suprised). Maybe somebody would know...

Do you have some sample data
to look at if you still are trying to solve your problem?

If you do not care to keep Sheet2 up to date with any subsequent changes in
Sheet1 then look at the free ASAP Utilities which has a function to replace
formulas with their values.
